Fried Apple Pies
Pie crust
- 2 cups flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 3 tbsp butter
- 1 egg beaten
- 1/2 cup milk
- Sift together flour, salt, and baking powder.
- Cut in butter.
- Add egg and milk and mix to soft dough.
- Roll out thin and cut into 5-inch circles.
Filling
- 2 cups cooked dried apples
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp nutmeg
- 1/4 cup sugar
- fat for frying
- Place cooked dried apples on circles.
- Sprinkle with spices and sugar.
- Fold over, wet edges with milk, and seal with fork.
- Fry in hot fat until golden brown.
- Drain and serve warm.
